Community groups and organisations in Hinkler are encouraged to submit an expression of interest for a grant of up to $5,000 to assist the work of their volunteers.
Federal Member for Hinkler Keith Pitt said the Volunteer Grants Program 2022-23 supports the work of local volunteers and hopes to encourage more people to volunteer.
âVolunteering comes in all shapes and sizes and our local sporting and community groups and not-for-profit organisations would not be able to support our community without their help,â Mr Pitt said.
âThis is a great opportunity for local organisations in Hinkler to apply for a grant of between $1,000 and $5,000 to help with costs incurred by their volunteers, such as first aid training, background security checks or transport for volunteers who may have a disability.
âCommunity organisations can also purchase portable equipment, such as iPads, computers, cooking equipment, marquees, outdoor equipment and tools.â
To be considered for a grant, community groups and organisations need to submit a completed Expression of Interest form by 5pm Friday, September 9, 2022.
A local committee will identify potential projects and make recommendations, and selected EOIs will then proceed to the formal application stage.
The Department of Social Services will then send an application form to nominated organisations to apply for funding.
EOI forms are available HERE or you can email keith.pitt.mp@aph.gov.au to be sent a form.
