Sign petition to show your support for a Regional City Deal

A final push is on to make sure Hinkler is one of the first regional electorates recognised as a site for a Regional City Deal.

Federal Member for Hinkler Keith Pitt is calling on local residents and the community to show its support for a Regional City Deal.

“A Regional City Deal is an economic plan that delivers more jobs into the future, infrastructure for better connectivity, training for the workforce of tomorrow and builds on the strengths of our region.

“A regional deal would bring together the Federal, State and Local Governments to establish a long-term plan for economic growth in the region,” Mr Pitt said.

“Last week I was in Canberra and again put the case forward for the Hinkler electorate to be considered for a Regional City Deal.

“I’ve spoken to the previous Cities Minister Angus Taylor, the current Minister Paul Fletcher, the Minister for Regional Development John McVeigh, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Prime Minister.

“The Prime Minister has already flagged the use of the City Deal framework in regional areas and I want the Hinkler electorate to be one of them.

“But I need the community to show its support. You can sign my online petition at: https://www.gopetition.com/petitions/dont-let-the-hinkler-electorate-miss-out-on-a-regional-city-deal.html

“I’m fighting to deliver the stronger economy that this region needs.

“There are opportunities around our port, our hospitals and our tourism, but we need to have a co-ordinated approach.

“I want to hear your ideas. What do you want a Regional City Deal to deliver? Tell me what we need and I will deliver it to the highest office, that of the Prime Minister,” Mr Pitt said.
