New playground for young families in Childers

Families in Childers will benefit from a new playground aimed at children under eight, to be built at Crescent Street.

Federal Member for Hinkler Keith Pitt today announced the Coalition Government is investing $50,000 to deliver a new playground.

Mr Pitt said this was an important project for the Childers community and in particular young families in the area.

“We’re investing in local projects like this because we understand Australia is made of more than big infrastructure projects,” he said.

“This playground will cater for younger children – eight and under – and their families, so they can get outside, socialize and be active in the community.

“The need for a playground for younger children was raised with me by local divisional councillor Bill Trevor and I’m pleased to be working with the Bundaberg Regional Council to see this project come to fruition,” Mr Pitt said.
