Get a taste of Bundaberg during festival

A 10-day festival celebrating fresh produce, local beverages and our culinary community will kick off in Bundaberg today.

Federal Member for Hinkler Keith Pitt encouraged everyone to get involved with this year’s Taste Bundaberg Festival.

“The festival has become a key tourism event in the region showcasing local producers and even though a number of popular events are already sold out, there are still lots of opportunities to sample our fantastic local produce and beverages.

“I’m pleased the Australian Government has supported the Taste Bundaberg Festival with two grants:

  • $50,000 to the Bundaberg Regional Council from the Building Better Regions Fund community investment stream; and
  • $30,000 to Bundaberg Region Limited from the Regional Tourism Bushfire Recovery Grants.”

“With so many events cancelled last year due to Covid-19, this is a great chance to get out and support our local producers and businesses.”

The festival kicks off tonight with the Chilli and Lime Fiesta at Riverfeast, followed by the Taste Farmers Market at Alexandra Park on Saturday morning.

The Taste Bundaberg Festival has evolved since the first Sunday Soiree in 2014 and grew into a 10-day winter food and drink festival in 2016 and rebranded in 2019 as the Taste Bundaberg Festival.
