Expressions of interest open for Volunteer Grants 2023-24

Recognising the important work of volunteers across the Hinkler electorate is being supported by the return of the popular Volunteer Grants Program.

Federal Member for Hinkler Keith Pitt is encouraging community groups and organisations to submit an expression of interest for a grant of up to $5,000 to assist the work of their volunteers.

“The Volunteer Grants Program 2023-24 supports the work of local volunteers who help keep local sporting, community groups and not-for-profit organisations running,” Mr Pitt said.

“Local organisations in Hinkler can submit an expression of interest for a grant of between $1,000 and $5,000 to help with costs incurred by their volunteers, such as first aid training, background security checks or transport for volunteers who may have a disability.

“Community organisations can also purchase portable equipment, such as iPads, laptops, cooking equipment, marquees, outdoor equipment and tools.”

To be considered for a grant, community groups and organisations need to submit a completed Expression of Interest form by 5pm on Friday 1 September 2023.

A local committee will identify potential projects and make recommendations, and selected EOIs will then proceed to the formal application stage.

The Department of Social Services will then send an application form to nominated organisations to apply for funding.

EOI forms are available HERE, or you can email keith.pitt.mp@aph.gov.au to be sent a form.
