About Hinkler

Hinkler is home to some of Queensland’s best natural holiday destinations.  Known as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, the Bundaberg region is Australia’s premier location for observing nesting sea turtles. Hervey Bay, at the southern end of the electorate, is regarded as one of the best places in the world to watch humpback whales.  The safe, sheltered waters provided by Lady Elliot Island, Lady Musgrave Island and Fraser Island make the Hinkler electorate an aquatic paradise year round for scuba diving, sailing, water sports and fishing.

Just four hours drive north of Brisbane, the region has a rich history. Named after the great aviator Bert Hinkler, the Hinkler electorate is also known for innovation: from the mechanical cane harvester to beverages like Bundaberg Rum and Bundaberg Ginger Beer. The region is considered one of the nation’s most productive food bowls, boasting an extensive and diverse range of fresh produce and seafood.

The city hubs of Bundaberg and Hervey Bay, equipped with five major hospitals and two airports, service the region’s many coastal and hinterland communities. The electorate has several public, private and independent schools, as well as university and TAFE campuses.

Hinkler is an ideal place to holiday, retire, raise a family, invest and do business! I wouldn’t live anywhere else!

I hope you find this website useful. Its design was inspired by the colours of Hinkler: red fertile soils, lush green vegetation, clear blue waters and golden beaches.
