Funding boost to support local veterans
Four veterans’ groups in Hinkler will receive additional funding from the Australian Government to further support local veterans and their families.
Federal Member for Hinkler Keith Pitt congratulated the ex-service organisations for the crucial role they play in supporting local veterans and their families.
“The Building Excellence in Support and Training Grants program supports the role of ex-service organisation pension and welfare advocates who provide advice and assistance to the veteran and defence communities.
“Under Round 23, four organisations will receive a share of more than $122,000 funding: Isis RSL, Bundaberg Legacy, Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia (QLD Branch) Hervey Bay Sub-Branch and Returned & Services League of Australia (Queensland Branch) Hervey Bay Sub-Branch.
“This funding will make a real difference to those on the ground, providing critical support and resources for veterans in Hinkler.
“I would like to thank all ex-service organisations that provide advocacy services in Hinkler who continue to provide vital services to our local veteran community.”
“These additional funds will help with the costs of support staff, equipment and services that directly support veterans and their families.”
The four local organisations are among 127 ex-service organisations (ESOs) sharing in $4.35 million through the 2021 round of the Building Excellence in Support and Training (BEST) Program.
