Regional Growth Fund closing soon

Monday, 26 March 2018

There’s just one month to go until applications close for the $272 million Regional Growth Fund.

Federal Member for Hinkler Keith Pitt is encouraging local and state governments, the private sector and not-for-profit organisations to apply.

“The Regional Growth Fund is aimed at supporting major projects in regional areas that will deliver long-term economic benefits,” Mr Pitt said.

The Coalition Government would invest a minimum of $10 million toward each successful infrastructure project, representing a maximum of 50 per cent of project costs.

Projects will be assessed on the ability to: create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities.

“The Regional Growth Fund will help create a wider range of jobs, stronger business communities and make regional areas like Hinkler more attractive to professionals or businesses seeking to relocate or seek new business opportunities,” he said.

“Nearly eight million people live outside of our capital cities, and there are immense opportunities available to all those who live, work and invest in regional Australia.”

Initial applications close at 5pm on 27 April 2018. For more information on the program, including the application process, visit www.grants.gov.au
