Expressions of Interest open for funding to build stronger communities in Hinkler
Community groups and not-for-profit organisations in Hinkler can submit an Expression of Interest now for a share of $150,000 in grants for small capital projects and equipment upgrades.
Federal Member for Hinkler Keith Pitt said expressions are open for Round 7 of the Stronger Communities Programme which provides grants of between $2,500 and $20,000.
âCommunity groups contribute so much to our local community, making them better places to live, work and raise a family,â Mr Pitt said.
âThis investment in local projects under the Stronger Communities Programme will support up to 20 projects, invigorating our communities and ensuring their continued success.
âThis type of investment brings people together by strengthening social connections, building community participation and delivering a brighter and more vibrant future for communities,â he said.
âMore than 60 projects right across the Hinkler electorate have received funding through previous rounds of the Stronger Communities Programme.
âProjects have included upgraded kitchens, a portable BBQ trailer, shade sails and marquees, air conditioning in a community hall, a community run cafÃĐ, a wheelchair accessible bus, new equipment, improved disability access, upgraded changing rooms, little libraries, and many more.â
Grant funding will be available for up to 100 per cent of eligible project costs except for local governing bodies where grant funding will be up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs.
Following the EOI process, a community panel will identify potential projects and make recommendations. Only applicants invited to apply by their MP will proceed to the formal application process.
Expressions of Interest must be received by the Hinkler electorate office by 5pm on Friday, November 26, 2021 and can be emailed to: keith.pitt.mp@aph.gov.au or dropped into the Bundaberg or Hervey Bay office. The EOI form is available at www.keithpitt.com.au.
