Coronavirus - Second Economic Response - factsheets

The Coalition Government has announced its second, $66 billion Economic Response to the significant challenges posed by the spread of the coronavirus. There are three parts of the package:
  • The first part is designed to support households - be they workers, retirees or others on income support with an unprecedented enhancement of Australia’s safety net.
  • The second part of the package sees a massive scaling up of support for small and medium sized businesses.
  • The third part of the package will provide a regulatory shield for what are otherwise profitable and viable businesses that find themselves under severe financial pressure as a result of the coronavirus.

Below are a number of factsheets about each measure. For more information visit: treasury.gov.au/coronavirus

Achievement Maps 2019

I’m Keith Pitt, the Federal Member for Hinkler.

For six years I’ve worked to deliver for you, your kids and grandkids, to build a stronger economy and bring more local jobs:

  • I got Australia’s first Regional Deal right here in Hinkler which will see all three levels of government work together to map out a plan for the region.
  • I’ve fought for funding to fasttrack projects like expansions at Macadamia’s Australia, Consolidated Linen, Austchilli and Isis Sugar Mill, through the Regional Jobs and Investment Package, which will bring jobs.
  • I got $19 million for Bundaberg Brewed Drinks’ super brewery which will create more than 200 jobs in construction and 147 ongoing.
  • A $26 million redevelopment at Hervey Bay Airport will bring 500 jobs to the region.
  • I dedicated two years to ensure the Cashless Debit Card means stability for children in the region who are missing out on the basics of life and gives young people motivation to get off welfare and into work.
  • We have a number of local road projects making it quicker for you to get home and the Gympie bypass will mean trips to Brisbane are faster and safer.
  • We’ve seen the youth unemployment rate fall from 27 percent in December 2017 to 20 percent in November 2018, and while there is still more work to do, I’m getting it done.

If you want to find out what else I’ve delivered for your area please take a look at the Achievement Maps.
