Expressions of interest open for Round 3 of Stronger Communities Program
Federal Member for Hinkler Keith Pitt is calling for expressions of interest for funding from Round Three of the Stronger Communities Program.
Through the program, the Federal Government provides grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 to eligible not-for-profit organisations for small capital projects.
Mr Pitt said the $150,000 Stronger Communities Program has been a boost for community groups and organisations that would otherwise struggle to generate the funding themselves.
"Under the previous two rounds of this program, $300,000 has helped Hinkler not-for-profit organisations offer more social benefits to the community.
"Bowlers at Torbanlea have a new kitchen, sailors in Hervey Bay got a new motor for their starter boat and Childers residents can enjoy air conditioning when they use the Isis Cultural Centre.
"Without the Stronger Communities Program that’s a lot of sausage sizzles and pie drives to raise the necessary funding.
"I encourage organisations interested in bringing forward project proposals to contact my electorate office on 4152 0744 for further information," he said.
An independent Hinkler advisory committee will examine and prioritise projects to ensure the funding delivers the best possible outcome for our local communities.
All applications need to commit at least matching funding or in-kind contributions.
